Mariapolis 2020 in Las Matas (Madrid), September 11, 12 and 13
The Mariapolis is the most characteristic date for the Focolare Movement. Together, the old and young, people from the most diverse origins come together for some days to bring life to a Laboratory of Fraternity in light of the Universal values of the Gospel.
This original experience that repeats itself in many countries in the world is based on the “Golden Rule” that invites us to do to others what we would want them to do to us.
These are days to experience that it is possible to live everyday putting the listening, gratuity and giving oneself as the base of every relationship.
The Focolare Movement celebrates this year the centenary of the birth of its founder, Chiara Lubich. The title of our Mariapolis references Chiara and her fist companions’ encounter with the God of Love. It happened in Trento (Italy) during difficult times, the Second World War. We are also living new circumstances. In the Mariapolis we will share how we have lived these months and how we will face this uncertain future.
The Mariapolis will begin Friday, September 11 at 8:30 pm with a connection via video-conference with all the participants. It will last 45 minutes.
The rest of the program will be face-to-face and will take place in the Mariápolis Luminosa Center, Calle Poniente no.33, Las Matas (Madrid), on Saturday, Sept 12 from 10:00 am to 10:30 pm and Sunday, Sept 13 from 10:00 am to 1:45 pm.
